Meet The Coaches

The coaches that work with the Maniax program come from all different backgrounds with all kinds of interesting fun facts to share! But, they all have one single thing in common- they LOVE LAX. In order for you to get to know your coaches a little better... we've asked them questions. Let's see their answers! 

Katy Richardson

Director of Education

What is your athletic background? Any notable accomplishments?

Division II (Adelphi University) and I (Presbyterian College) lacrosse player at the collegiate level. Member of Adelphi Universities 2014 National Championship Team. Currently holds the Big South Conference Record for most goals scored in a single game.

What do you do when you’re not coaching?

When I'm not coaching lacrosse, I can be found coaching CrossFit or competing in the Florida Grid League as a barbell specialist.

Best Advice You Ever Received?

Arriving 15 minutes early is "on time". Arriving "on time" is late.

Seeing them grow and helping them along the way of young adult hood!

Take your time in the recruiting process. Make sure it’s the right fit. Don’t feed into committing early.

What is your athletic background? Any notable accomplishments?

I played at Messiah College and received all conference and all region honors my junior and senior year for attack. Also, I was a second team All-American my senior year for attack. Additionally, I am top ten in Messiah's program history for goals, assists, and points.

What do you love most about coaching young athletes?

I love seeing their growth in all capacities; mental, physical and personal confidence all directed at enhancing the teams chance of success.

What is your athletic background? Any notable accomplishments?

DIII LAX and football and now an avid cross-fit athlete.

What do you do when you’re not coaching?

I am a Scientist at Scripps and tend to spend a lot of time there or when not doing that Im exercising or boating with the family.

Never discourage anyone...who continually makes progress, no matter how slow.

Bianca Tedesco

What is your athletic background? Any notable accomplishments?

I have been playing lacrosse since 2nd grade. I was a two time all American my junior and senior years of high school. I am currently playing D1 lacrosse at Winthrop University and I am one of the starting 7 attackers in every game since freshman year.

What is your Professional Passion?

My biggest professional goal is to be a college or high school lacrosse coach but I am also currently studying human nutrition and would like to become a registered dietitian.

What are you passionate about?

Life lessons and character building through sport. Plant based nutrition, mental health and self-improvement, fitness, and general life happiness.

What is your athletic background? Any notable accomplishments?

Cornell Women's Lacrosse. 2006, 2007 US Lacrosse All-American, Academic All-American. Various fitness activities: running, cycling, strength training, yoga.

What do you do when you’re not coaching?

I'm working doing software development, exercising, enjoying the beach or mountains, or cooking.

I love being able to learn about each individual and figure out which ways to coach them based on their personalities and how they respond to my coaching tips.

Pretty good HS career at TBS, played 2.5 seasons at Northwestern.

What is the Best Advice You Ever Received?

"Life begins when your comfort zone ends"

I am passionate about teaching girls to be a great teammate ON and OFF the field.
